Reigning Serie A champions Napoli and the big three Italian clubs earned victories on Matchday 1 of the 2023/24 season whereas AS Roma were held to a dramatic draw against Salernitana.
The Partenopei overcame a deficit to win 3-1 against Frosinone, and star striker Victor Osimhen thanks to two assists from Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Osimhen‘s performance also earned him our Serie A Player of the Week prize for the opening matchday.
Lautaro Martinez scored both goals for the Nerazzurri in their victory against Monza. The Giallorossi drew 2-2 against the Granata, with Andrea Belotti finding the back of the net twice for the Romans while Antonio Candreva scored two wonderful goals for the Campanians.
