Big teams such as AC Milan, Inter and Napoli earned victories on Matchday 2 of the 2023/24 Serie A season, but there were some shock results over the weekend as well involving Juventus, AS Roma and Lazio.
AC Milan earned a comprehensive 4-1 victory against Torino with Olivier Giroud barely showing any signs of ageing, while Christian Pulisic is quickly adapting to Italian football as he found the net again. Hakan Calhanoglu put in a dominant performance for Inter in a routine win against Cagliari, whilst Ondrej Duda inspired an unexpected victory for Hellas Verona against AS Roma.
Despite some lacklustre defending for the Atalanta goal by Duvan Zapata, Ilario Monterisi had a great game in defence for Frosinone and also scored in their 2-1 win. Andrea Colpani scored twice for Monza in their victory against Empoli and earned our Serie A Player of the Week prize.
