Serie A 2023/24: Team of the Week – Matchday 8

Serie A Matchday 8 saw some big clubs drop valuable points and others earn comprehensive wins. We've put our heads together to come up with our Serie A team of the week for the weekend's action.


AC Milan are now the outright leaders in Serie A after defeating Genoa 1-0 whereas Inter were held to a 2-2 draw against Bologna. Christian Pulisic scored the only goal of the game for the Rossoneri, taking his seasonal tally to four goals, and Lewis Ferguson earned a penalty and supplied an assist for the Felsinei away to the Nerazzurri.

Juventus defeated Torino 2-0 in the Derby della Mole, Fiorentina won 3-1 away to reigning champions Napoli, and AS Roma smashed Cagliari 4-1. Leandro Paredes supplied two assists, but the real star for the Giallorossi was Romelu Lukaku, who scored twice and won our Serie A Player of the Week prize.

Lazio earned a 3-2 victory against Atalanta with Valentin Castellanos scoring a goal and assisting another, and Monza earned an emphatic 3-0 win against Salernitana with Michele Di Gregorio keeping another clean sheet in style.
