Italian champions Inter drew 2-2 against Hellas Verona with Marko Arnautovic scoring a double while Simy netted twice in Salernitana’s 3-3 draw away to AC Milan on Serie A Matchday 38.

Alex Sandro scored in his final match for Juventus and Nicolo Fagioli supplied an assist in his first start in months as the Bianconeri beat Monza 2-0. Teun Koopmeiners and Mario Pasalic had fine games in midfield for Atalanta as they thrashed Torino 3-0, and Cristiano Biraghi was among the scorers in Fiorentina’s 3-2 win against Cagliari.

Elsewhere, Napoli were held to a scoreless draw against Lecce, Genoa defeated Bologna 2-0, Udinese needed just one goal to beat Frosinone, and Empoli won 2-1 against AS Roma. Matteo Cancellieri scored a goal and assisted in another for the Azzurri, and he was selected as our Serie A Player of the Week.

Serie A 23/24 – Matchday 38 Player of the Week

Matteo Cancellieri was selected as our Serie A Player of the Week after his involvement in both Empoli goals against AS Roma.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring after he calmly controlled a pass from Emmanuel Gyasi, and slotted the ball past Mile Svilar in the Giallorossi goalkeeper. Although Houssem Aouar equalised for the Romans just before half-time, Cancellieri turned provider as he supplied a low cross for M’Baye Niang to score the winner in the dying minutes.

The last-ditch winner allowed Empoli to stay in Serie A and condemned Frosinone to Serie B.
