Women’s Football Podcast: It all hots up in the fight for survival as Parma and Sassuolo wake up

Parma and Sassuolo have made things very interesting in the fight for survival at the bottom of Serie A Femminile, and we're here to chat through the current state of play, as well as Italy's Arnold Clark Cup efforts.

Serie A Femminile has almost come to the end of its regular season before the table splits in half for the Scudetto pool and the salvation pool and Matchday 17 featured some big results at both ends of the table.

Sassuolo and Parma were the big winners as they beat Como and Sampdoria respectively to move away from the bottom of the table. The bottom five has already been decided but every point is crucial down there.

At the top, AS Roma had to work hard to beat a resilient Inter side 3-2 although the Giallorosse ought to have been out of sight by half time. Juventus maintained the eight-point gap as they beat Fiorentina 3-0 in Tuscany as Cristiana Girelli got her 100th goal for the Bianconere.

To chat through the action, Euan Burns is hosting the Women’s Football Podcast and getting all the details from Conor Clancy. You can read Conor’s piece focusing on Parma’s victory here.

As ever, the Women’s Football Podcast in which we talk through the Serie A Femminile action is available exclusively here to subscribers to Patreon.com/TotalItalianFootball, where there are €2, €5 and €10 tiers available.
