Laura Feiersinger was integral for AS Roma Women on Matchday 3 of the 2023/24 Serie A Femminile season, scoring twice for the champions as they strolled to a 5-0 win away at Pomigliano. Her performance sees her named our Player of the Week for Matchday 3 and, of course, earns her a place in our Team of the Week as well.

Having claimed their first-ever Serie A Femminile title last season under Alessandro Spugna, Roma face an unprecedented task in having to defend their crown this season, and the departure of Andressa Alves over the summer was – and still is – expected to be a complication that they will have to find solutions to as the season goes on. So far, though, all of the Giallorosse’s new signings have hit the ground running, allowing Spugna to rotate in a way that doesn’t compromise on quality.

AS Roma Women’s new signings start well

Feiersinger is one of the new faces in the Eternal City, and she netted the first two goals of the game, but she wasn’t the only newcomer to score against Pomigliano. Each of Roma‘s five goals was scored by a new signing, with Saki Kumagai, Evelyne Viens and Martina Tomaselli also getting on target, with the latter three all having scored in the 4-1 win over Como Women on Matchday 2 as well.

With a tough game against Inter awaiting in Matchday 4 before travelling to take on a struggling Sampdoria, Roma will be hoping their early-season form can continue until the international break. After the October internationals, the champions are away to their biggest challengers, Juventus, in what is an early six-pointer in the title race.
