Serie A Femminile Matchday 4 was another good one for Juventus Women, with the Bianconere desperate to once again get their hands on the title this season having been dethroned by AS Roma Women last term. Both Juventus and Roma have enjoyed perfect starts to this 2023/24 season, and Joe Montemurro‘s side recorded a statement win against Sassuolo that was inspired by an excellent Lineth Beerensteyn.

Beerensteyn was in flying form on the left for Juventus, and her performance sees her take our Serie A Femminile Player of the Week prize for Matchday 4. She is, of course, also named in our Team of the Week as well.

Beerensteyn too hot to handle for Sassuolo

Beerensteyn enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in Italian women’s football in 2022/23, despite Juventus falling short of Roma in the title. Now, in 2023/24, the Bianconere will be hoping that she can drive them towards reclaiming the scudetto, and her performance at the Stadio La Marmora-Pozzo in Biella suggests that she has no plans to slow down.

In the Coppa Italia Femminile in midweek, Beerensteyn opened the scoring inside three minutes as the holders beat Chievo Verona comfortably, and she needed little more than five minutes to get up and running as Juventus returned to Serie A action. Pouncing on a mistake from Maria Luisa Filangeri, the Netherlands international bore down on Solene Durand‘s goal before coolly finishing into the far corner.

Beerensteyn got her second of the night, again in her typical fashion, when Maelle Garbino fed her and she weaved her way to the edge of the box before firing home.

She could have completed her hat-trick in the second half from close range only for Durand to pull off an excellent save to deny her, and despite playing the entire 90 minutes that early second-half chance was as good an opportunity as she would have to add a third.
