Serie A Femminile 2023/24: Team of the Week – Matchday 5

Serie A Femminile Matchday 5 saw victories for AS Roma and Juventus once again, whilst the likes of AC Milan and Inter also won. We've named our Team of the Week from the weekend's action.

Serie A Femminile takes a break now for the international fixtures but Matchday 5 featured plenty of excellent individual performances that caught the eye across the weekend.

Both AS Roma and Juventus managed to maintain their 100% records with five wins from five, meaning they are both represented in the Team of the Week. Roma have got three players after they beat Sampdoria 5-0. Juventus‘ win was more narrow, beating Fiorentina 2-1 after a string of great saves from Katja Schroffenegger.

Inter became the fifth team to beat Napoli this season as they ran out 2-0 winners against the Azzurre. Napoli run a serious risk of being cut adrift at the bottom of the table, whilst Sassuolo are in similar trouble given they lost again, this time to Como who showed their defensive solidity.

It was a good weekend for AC Milan as they came up against Pomigliano. The Rossonere won 4-1, with Kosovare Asllani netting twice and getting an assist. There was also a goal for Andrea Staskova.

Serie A Femminile Team of the Week for Matchday 4: Katja Schroffenegger; Beatrice Merlo, Chiara Cecotti, Elena Linari, Valentina Bergamaschi; Christy Grimshaw, Annahita Zamanian; Evelyne Viens, Kosovare Asllani, Lineth Beerensteyn; Valentina Giacinti.
