Matchday 20 of the 2023/24 Serie A season saw Inter get back to their attacking best as they put five past Monza, whilst Napoli got back to winning ways with a victory against Salernitana that they desperately needed.

That 2-1 victory for Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with a 96th-minute winner from Amir Rrahmani, started the weekend’s action and it was a win that Walter Mazzarri really needed.

That was followed by Genoa 0-0 Torino, and a crucial 2-1 win for Verona against Empoli which leaves the latter firmly in the relegation zone. To end Saturday’s action, Inter impressed as they beat Monza 5-1, with Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu both getting two goals each.

On Sunday, Lazio continued their great form by beating Lecce 1-0, whilst Bologna’s drop in form intensified with a 2-1 defeat away at Cagliari. There was plenty of entertainment in Tuscany as Fiorentina and Udinese played out a 2-2 draw in which La Viola scored a late penalty.

Sunday’s action came to a close with AC Milan beating AS Roma 3-1 at San Siro, three points that the Rossoneri certainly deserved for their display.
