Serie A Matchday 10 was always likely to be a good one, with two standout fixtures scheduled for Sunday. But there was a lot of football to be played before the main event of Sunday evening, and Juventus were the big winners as they edged Hellas Verona 1-0 on Saturday to sit top of the table overnight.

Genoa got the ball rolling at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Friday evening, sending Salernitana back down the coast to Campania empty-handed after the Grifone won 1-0. Sassuolo and Bologna shared two goals in Reggio Emilia on Saturday, and Torino returned home with the points from the longest away trip in Serie A after beating Lecce 1-0 in Puglia.

Sunday got underway with an unexpectedly dramatic game in Sardinia. Frosinone had a 3-0 lead over Cagliari with less than 20 minutes to play, but Claudio Ranieri‘s side fought back and won 4-3. That was followed by Monza 1-1 Udinese.

The big fixtures then began, with Inter beating AS Roma 1-0 in what was a disappointing affair, before a superb 2-2 draw between Napoli and AC Milan in which the Rossoneri threw away a two-goal lead. On Monday night, Gianluca Scamacca netted twice as Atalanta won 3-0 away at Empoli. Finally, a late winner saw Lazio beat Fiorentina 1-0.
