Matchday 27 of the 2023/24 Serie A season saw AC Milan, AS Roma, Napoli and Bologna collect three vital points as they chase Champions League qualification, with the Rossoblu’s win over Atalanta opening up a four point gap between the pair.

The weekend action began in controversy on Friday night, as the Rossoneri overcame Lazio with a late Noah Okafor goal and the Biancocelesti ended the game with eight-men, as Luca Pellegrini, Adam Marusic and Matteo Guendouzi all saw red.

On Saturday, Roma stole the show with a comprehensive 4-1 win away to Monza, as Paulo Dybala was the star once more with an assist and goal for the Giallorossi. While Udinese and Salernitana started the day with a 1-1 draw and it ended with goalless encounter between Torino and Fiorentina.

Two huge results at the bottom of the table got Sunday off to the perfect start, as Hellas Verona and Cagliari secured 1-0 victories over Sassuolo and Empoli respectively, as Frosinone drew 1-1 with Lecce.

The evenings action then got underway with Bologna beating Atalanta 2-1 at the Gewiss Stadium, that knocked La Dea down to sixth place. Before Napoli had a morale boosting 2-1 over Juventus, when Giacomo Raspadori scored a later winner at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

On Monday night, Inter took another huge step towards the scudetto after overcoming Genoa in a 2-1 victory, as Kristjan Asllani and Alexis Sanchez gave them the victory.
