Matchday 29 of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign saw Juventus slip up in their attempts to secure a Champions League place for next term, while AC Milan, Bologna and AS Roma took advantage.

The weekend got underway with a last-gasp win for Bologna at Empoli, with Giovanni Fabbian scoring the only goal four minutes into stoppage time, and two more close fought encounters followed the next day. As Monza edged past Cagliari 1-0 and Torino secured a 2-0 win away to Udinese.

That run continued later in the evening, as Salernitana lost 1-0 to Lecce, before a thriller in Frosinone saw visitors Lazio overcome the Canarini 3-2 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.

On Sunday, Juventus played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw with Genoa, which allowed AC Milan to pull further away from the Bianconeri by defeating Hellas Verona 3-1. However, Atalanta were denied the opportunity to chase down the Rossoneri, as their clash with Fiorentina was postponed when Viola director Joe Barone was rushed to hospital.

AS Roma secured a valuable three points in their own pursuit of Champions League qualification and heaped more pressure on relegation threatened Sassuolo with a 1-0 win. While champions elect Inter drew 1-1 with reigning champions Napoli to end the weekends action.
