Inter remain at the top of the Serie A table heading into the season’s third international break and after Matchday 12, but Derby d’Italia rivals Juventus are breathing down their necks. To make things all the more exciting, the two old foes face off as domestic action returns with Matchday 13.
Inter closed out the weekend’s games with a 2-0 home win over Frosinone, which saw them retake top spot after Juventus‘ 2-1 win at home to Cagliari had seen them climb above the Nerazzurri 24 hours earlier.
AC Milan slipped up again, blowing a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 in Lecce. Napoli lost at home to Empoli 1-0, Atalanta drew 1-1 at Udinese, and the Derby della Capitale between Lazio and AS Roma ended goalless.
Elsewhere, Sassuolo fought from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Salernitana, Genoa beat Hellas Verona 1-0, Monza and Torino drew 1-1, and Fiorentina beat Bologna 2-1.
