There was a shock result at the top of the table on Serie A Matchday 18 as Inter dropped rare points by drawing 1-1 away at Genoa, whilst Napoli‘s poor form continued.

The action began on Friday evening with Fiorentina continuing to stay in the fight for the top four as they ran out 1-0 winners at home against Torino. Napoli lost ground as they could only draw 0-0 with Monza.

Later the same night, both Inter and Lazio were in action. The league leaders were away at Genoa and despite taking the lead through Marko Arnautovic, former Juventus defender Radu Dragusin soon equalised and the Nerazzurri couldn’t find a way through.

Lazio had a much better evening as they recorded a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Frosinone.

On Saturday, Atalanta beat Lecce 1-0 to kick things off before Udinese sprung a surprise by beating high-flying Bologna 3-0.

Cagliari and Empoli drew 0-0, Salernitana won 1-0 at Hellas Verona, AC Milan beat Sassuolo by that same scoreline, as did Juventus as they hosted AS Roma.
