Inter will remain at the top of Serie A for another week after they thrashed Monza, whilst the bottom of the table makes for grim reading for Empoli and Salernitana.

Inter‘s grip on the top of the Serie A table was strengthened on Matchday 20 as they emphatically beat Monza 5-1 at the U-Power, whilst wins for Cagliari and Verona saw two teams get cut adrift at the bottom.

Napoli desperately needed a win to stay in the conversation for fourth place and they got it thanks to a 96th-minute winner from Amir Rrahmani against Salernitana.

Lazio stayed above the Partenopei though as their good form continued with a 1-0 won at home against Lecce.

At the bottom, Cagliari got an impressive 2-1 win against Bologna who have seen their league position suffer in recent weeks, whilst Verona’s 2-1 win against Empoli means that the Azzurri and Salernitana are four and five points respectively behind Verona in 18th.

AC Milan made sure they stayed in their own world in third place by beating AS Roma 3-1 at San Siro, further dampening Roma‘s chances of finishing the season in the top four.
