Serie A table after Matchday 34

Matchday 34 of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign started with the relegation of Salernitana, but how does the rest of the table look after the latest set of fixtures?

-

With Inter having wrapped up the title, attention turned to the other end of the table and Matchday 34 on the 2023/24 Serie A season began with the relegation of Salernitana after a 3-0 defeat to Frosinone on Friday night, which lifted the victors out of the bottom three.

The following day, Lazio kept the pressure on those chasing European qualification with a narrow 1-0 win over Hellas Verona that also pushed the visitors closer to the drop zone, until other results went in their favour and left them in 15th.

Before that clash in the capital, Juventus and AC Milan played out an uneventful goalless draw, but Champions League qualification rivals Bologna and AS Roma failed to take advantage by both failing to win. Although Atalanta gained a valuable three points with a 2-0 win over Empoli.

The Azzurri fell to 17th place after that loss in Bergamo, but the failure of Udinese to get more than a point against Bologna kept the Zebrette in the final relegation place. While Sassuolo look like they have already given up hope of staying in Serie A next term, as they capitulated 5-1 at Fiorentina.

On Monday night, Genoa impressed by beating Cagliari 3-0.
