With plenty still to fight for at the bottom of the standings, how does the table look after Matchday 36 of the 2023/24 Serie A season?

Matchday 36 of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign had a huge impact on the clubs chasing qualification for next season’s reformatted Champions League, as Bologna confirmed their place in the competition next term after leapfrogging Juventus in the standings with a 2-0 win over Napoli.

The Bianconeri had the chance to remain in third position at the end of the weekend’s action, but could only draw 1-1 at the Allianz Stadium with already relegated Salernitana with an injury-time Adrien Rabiot equaliser.

However, the Old Lady could yet be overtaken by Atalanta, after the Nerazzurri defeated fellow Champions League qualification rivals AS Roma at the Gewiss Stadium to move within four points of Juventus, and with an extra game still to play.

At the other end of the table, things remained the same, as Frosinone suffered a 5-0 loss to champions Inter on Friday night and Cagliari also took a 5-1 beating against AC Milan. While Empoli, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo all lost on Sunday afternoon. However, the Gialloblu and Neroverdi had been leading in their respective games with Torino and Genoa.

On Monday night, Udinese climbed out of the relegation zone by beating Lecce 2-0, whilst Fiorentina beat Monza 2-1.
