Serie A table after Matchday 5

More big teams slipped up on Matchday 5 of Serie A, with Lazio's struggles continuing and Juventus falling to their first defeat of the season. But how does the Serie A table look after the latest results?

-

Serie A Matchday 5 saw AC Milan get back to winning ways after a hammering against cross-city rivals Inter and a disappointing Champions League draw against Newcastle United, with Rafael Leao scoring their winner as they beat Hellas Verona 1-0 at the Stadio San Siro.

That win allows Milan to end Matchday 5 back above Juventus in the Serie A table after the Bianconeri went away and lost 4-2 to Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium, giving Inter the chance to further extend their lead at the top. Lazio also slipped up again, this time drawing 1-1 at home to Monza.

The action start on Friday, when Salernitana and Frosinone shared the points with a 1-1 draw in Salerno, while high-flying Lecce continued their good form with a 1-0 win over Genoa.

AS Roma slipped up again, being held 1-1 away at Torino. Napoli stumbled as well, drawing 0-0 at Bologna.

Elsewhere, Inter won 1-0 at Empoli, Atalanta beat Cagliari 2-0 and Fiorentina beat Udinese by that same scoreline.
