The 2023/24 Serie A season has reached its second international break after Matchday 8, and the Serie A table is starting to take a familiar shape. Here’s how the standings look after the latest set of fixtures, with AC Milan leading the chasing pack.

With Inter blowing a lead and stumbling at home to Bologna on Saturday, AC Milan took full advantage with their narrow, and dramatic, 1-0 win at Genoa that saw Olivier Giroud end up playing as goalkeeper in stoppage time.

The Derby della Mole went Juventus‘ way again with a 2-0 win over Torino, while Lazio claimed a big 3-2 win at home to Atalanta. AS Roma won 4-1 at Cagliari. There was also a big win for Fiorentina as they beat champions Napoli 3-1 to pile more pressure on Rudi Garcia.

Elsewhere, Empoli hosted a goalless draw with Udinese, Lecce and Sassuolo shared two goals, Monza beat Salernitana 3-0, Frosinone beat Hellas Verona 2-1.
