Serie A Table after Matchday 6

How is the Serie A table looking now after the latest results?

-

The Serie A table has a different look again after Matchday 6 (Empoli v AS Roma is still to be played on Monday night), with Napoli moving into pole position on the weekend that saw the Formula 1’s Italian Grand Prix held in Monza. Curiously, Monza also claimed their first point of the season away at Lecce on the same day, though they stay bottom of the Serie A table.

Luciano Spalletti’s Partenopei followed up their midweek thumping of Liverpool by just about edging Spezia, needing a late Giacomo Raspadori goal to take the points. Atalanta’s 1-1 draw at home to Cremonese saw them slip from top to second.

AC Milan beat Samp 2-1 and Udinese won at Sassuolo to complete the Champions League places. Inter kept up the trend of the Champions League sides winning by single-goal margins, seeing off Torino with a late Marcelo Brozovic goal at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

On Sunday night, Juventus had to fight from two goals behind against Salernitana and a stoppage-time goal from Leonardo Bonucci and then Arkadiusz Milik saw the Old Lady get a point. Arkadiusz Milik thought he had won the game, but had a goal ruled out seconds after Bonucci’s and was then sent off as he had taken off his shirt.
