Serie A Femminile returns from the season’s second international break with Matchday 6 this weekend, and there’s a mouth-watering game at the top of the table as table-toppers Inter play hosts to rivals AC Milan in the first Milan Derby – or Derby della Madonnina – of the campaign.
The Nerazzurri remain unbeaten so far this season with four wins and a draw from their five games played, leaving them on 13 points at the top of the table. Behind them – on sitting on 12 points – are AS Roma and Fiorentina. Juventus are fourth on 11 points having surprisingly dropped points twice already this season.
While Inter have undeniably been the story of the season so far, it’s worth highlighting that Rita Guarino’s side are yet to face any real tests other than Juventus, against whom they managed to earn a point. All eyes will be on this weekend’s derby.
Elsewhere there’s an eye-catching game in Emilia-Romagna with AS Roma visiting struggling Sassuolo. The Neroverde are bottom of the table and welcome a Giallorosse side who will be in Women’s Champions League group stage action just days later. Sassuolo’s only point came at home to Juventus in their last game at the Stadio Enzo Ricci.
