AS Roma got their Europa League campaign underway with a 2-1 win away at Sheriff in Transnistria on Thursday night.

The Giallorossi managed to get the lead late in the first half thanks to Leandro Paredes, his first goal since returning to the club. Sheriff were quickly back on level terms though when Cristian Tovar managed to fire in after a corner bounced around in the box.

Roma soon got back ahead after a very swift move involving Paulo Dybala and Bryan Cristante which ended with Romelu Lukaku firing into the bottom corner. There was also a late red card for Joao Paulo.

The other game in the group saw Slavia Prague win 2-0 away Servette so Roma are second in the group after one game.
