AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has reflected on the club’s Serie A title success last term and is eager to see the team defend their title.

The Rossoneri were crowned champions after pipping city rivals Inter, sealing a first Scudetto since 2011, and Tomori played a key role at the heart of the defence.

“It was all crazy, the open top bus tour through the city was incredible,” Tomori reminisced in an interview with GQ.

“Wherever we went, our fans were there on the streets and it was crazy. It was the best moment of my career, for sure.”

However, the England international insisted that Milan were not content with a single league title and were looking for more glory this season too.

“It’s nice to look back and for us to know what it feels like to taste success, but now we want to repeat it. Winning once is extraordinary, but to do it a second time would be even more so,” he added.

Tomori proves his value

The Canada-born defender initially joined Milan on loan in January 2021, before sealing a permanent switch from Chelsea that summer, and has established himself as a crucial cog in Stefano Pioli’s side.

Tomori featured 31 times in Serie A last season as the Diavolo enjoyed the joint-second best defensive record in the Italian top flight, plugging the gap left by the long-term injury sustained by Simon Kjaer.

The 24-year-old signed a contract extension at the Stadio San Siro this summer, tying him down to the club until 2027.
