Following a disastrous time at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the Italy Women’s National Team will be looking to show some kind of reaction as the UEFA Women’s Nations League kicks off in September. The Azzurre, though, have been handed an incredibly tough group in League A Group A4.

The group-stage elimination put an end to Milena Bertolini‘s time in charge of Italy, and a relative unknown has been hired to replace the departed coach in Andrea Soncin. His appointment has largely been met with indifference, at best, and he won’t have an easy start to life in charge of the Azzurre as they have to navigate fixtures against neighbours Switzerland and world no.1-ranked side Sweden in his first two games.
