One of the handful of sides battling to stay in Serie A Femminile has secured their place in the top flight for another season as Como created enough of a gap between themselves and three other teams.
They beat Sampdoria 2-1 in a game that featured three penalties and two red cards. It was a result that means Como are safe from both automatic relegation and the relegation playoff spot.
Another result which helped that be the case was Parma’s dramatic 5-4 loss away at Sassuolo. Pomigliano did not play this week, but one of Parma, Sampdoria and the Campanian side will be relegated and another will face a playoff against a Serie B Femminile side.
The top of Serie A Femminile has already been decided but there were two draws over the weekend. Juventus threw away a 2-0 lead at home to Inter, whilst Fiorentina drew 1-1 with AC Milan.
