The 2023/24 season is looking very different for AS Roma Women right now compared to a few weeks ago, with the Giallorosse losing for the first time in the Women’s Serie A and facing an early exit from the Women’s Champions League.

Alessandro Spugna‘s side were beaten 2-0 by Inter on Matchday 13 of the Serie A Femminile season which allowed Juventus to close the gap to just three points by beating Sassuolo 1-0.

With the recent Supercoppa Italiana win over Roma factored in, the momentum is really with the Bianconere now.

Roma looked like they had put that defeat behind them when they were leading 1-0 into the final stages of the Women’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich at the Stadio Tre Fontane. Instead, it ended 2-2, and now they need a specific and unlikely set of circumstances to advance in the tournament.
