The biggest game of Serie A Femminile Matchday 12 saw Juventus travel to the Stadio Tre Fontane to take on AS Roma who had a six-point lead at the top of the table. After a 4-2 thriller, that lead has been slashed to three points and the title race took another twist.
Roma had taken the lead in that one through Annamaria Serturini but superb displays from Lineth Beerensteyn and Julia Grosso meant that Juventus got themselves right back in the hunt for the title.
Elsewhere, a Kosovare Asllani goal helped AC Milan beat Sassuolo 1-0, whilst Sampdoria sank further by being beaten 1-0 by Como. Inter’s form continued as Tabitha Chawinga (who gets plenty of attention here) scored twice against Pomigliano.
There was also a big win for Fiorentina against Parma as La Viola won 4-0.
To chat through the action, Euan Burns is hosting the Women’s Football Podcast and getting all the details from Conor Clancy who was at the Sassuolo-Milan game and the Roma-Juventus game. Read his piece from the Tre Fontane here.
