Women’s Football Podcast: Parma shoot themselves in the foot again, snatching a draw from the jaws of victory

The bottom of the Serie A Femminile table is providing the action at the end of the season and Matchday 25 will go down as yet another missed opportunity for Parma. We chat through that and all the other action.

The focus is entirely on the Survival Pool in Serie A Femminile now with just a couple of matchdays still to go. There are three teams battling to avoid the automatic drop or the relegation playoff place.

With Pomigliano losing on Saturday at home to Sassuolo, where Lana Clelland continued her fine form with another goal, Parma knew they could make up crucial ground with a win over Como. Having led 2-0, they ended up drawing 2-2 which is of little use to them. That game also saw a bad injury to promising Como youngster and Italy international Matilde Pavan, ending her 2023 Women’s World Cup hopes.

At the top of the table, AS Roma grabbed a late draw against AC Milan and Tabitha Chawinga continued to dazzle as she grabbed three goals and an assist in Inter’s 4-0 victory at home against Fiorentina, meaning the battle for third remains tight.
