Italian women’s football burst back into life for 2024 with an excellent Supercoppa Italiana final between Juventus and AS Roma which went the way of the Bianconere.

The two best teams in the country descended on the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona, home to the Cremonese men’s team, and it was Juventus who put in the better performance.

Evelyne Viens‘ own goal opened the scoring in the first half, but Saki Kumagai scored a wonderful goal before the break to make it 1-1. Maelle Garbino then started the second half by upstaging Kumagai with an even better goal which made it 2-1 and Joe Montemurro‘s side were able to see the game out.

We’ve got Euan Burns hosting and Conor Clancy joining him to chat through that final, various goings on over the festive period, and the upcoming Women’s Serie A fixtures for Matchday 12 this weekend.
