Women’s Serie A 2023/24: Team of the Week – Matchday 11

AS Roma were the big winners on Matchday 11 of the Women's Serie A season as Juventus slipped up again, and there were some top performances across the league. We've come up with our Team of the Week.

With the Women’s Serie A season now moving into its winter break after Matchday 11, champions AS Roma boast a comfortable six-point lead at the top of the table after their comeback win away at an impressive Como Women. So impressive were Como, in fact, that their representatives outnumber the Giallorosse in our Team of the Week for Matchday 11.

With Roma needing two Elena Linari penalties and a Lucia Di Guglielmo header to see come from behind twice as Como led through Dominika Skorvankova and then Miriam Picchi strikes, the Giallorosse did pull further clear of a Juventus who slipped to a 1-0 loss away to Sampdoria earlier in the weekend. Samp themselves have two players in the Women’s Serie A Team of the Week.

Napoli Femminile impressed despite conceding a late goal to AC Milan, earning their second point of the season thanks to their excellent defensive work and led by Martina Di Bari and goalkeeper Doris Bacic, while Michela Cambiaghi‘s best efforts weren’t enough for Inter to stop Veronica Boquete and Fiorentina from winning 4-2 in Tuscany, with the Spaniard netting a hat-trick and teammate Emma Severini providing two assists.

Boquete also took our Women’s Serie A Player of the Week prize.
