The 2023 Women’s World Cup journey has come to an end for the Italy Women’s National Team after they were beaten 3-2 by South Africa in New Zealand.

The performance on the pitch was much the same as it had been throughout the tournament, with Italy having plenty of the ball and failing to do anything with it. Whilst the action on the pitch was bad enough, things have gotten even worse for Milena Bertolini off of it.

A joint statement shared on social media by almost all of the Azzurre squad expressed unhappiness with the leadership during the tournament and with Bertolini out of contract following the tournament, it seems the end for the coach is here.

Euan Burns and Conor Clancy are here to dissect the Women’s World Cup for Italy and talk through the activity on social media.
