World Cup: Which Serie A players are playing in Group C and Group D today?

As many as 22 Serie A players could be in action at the World Cup today, with Matchday 2 of Groups C and D being played out.


With the World Cup group stages now into their second matchdays, the stakes have grown considerably higher for so many teams that mightn’t have expected to land themselves in trouble so early on – most notably Argentina. The South American champions are in action this Saturday, November 26 with a number of Serie A players in their squad.

With four Serie A players in their ranks, Argentina face Mexico and their two players from Italy’s top flight knowing that they need to win. The other big World Cup game today sees France take on Denmark, with five Serie A players hoping to be involved there.

What are today’s World Cup fixtures?

The World Cup fixtures for Saturday, November 26 involve the teams from Group C and Group D. Group C consists of Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. Group D contains Denmark, Tunisia, France and Australia.

Tunisia vs Australia is the first game of Saturday, kicking off at 11:00 CET before Poland vs Saudi Arabia at 14:00. The action continues at 17:00 with France vs Denmark before Argentina vs Mexico ends the day’s action.

Which players from Serie A are playing in the World Cup today?

With as many as 65 Serie A players called up to the 2022 World Cup, you don’t have to look to far to see one involved in a game. Only Group E contains no Serie A players.

The following Serie A players could all be involved in today’s World Cup matches:

Group C

Argentina (Four)

Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Leandro Paredes (Juventus), Angel Di Maria (Juventus), Paulo Dybala (AS Roma) – Both Nico Gonzalez and Joaquin Correa had to leave the squad on Thursday, November 17 with injuries.

Poland (Nine)

Lukasz Skorupski (Bologna), Szymon Zurkowski (Fiorentina), Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus), Arkadiusz Milik (Juventus), Piotr Zielinski (Napoli), Nicola Zalewski (AS Roma), Krzysztof Piatek (Fiorentina), Bartosz Bereszynski (Sampdoria), Jakub Kiwior (Spezia)

Mexico (Two)

Johan Vasquez (Cremonese), Hirving Lozano (Napoli)

There are no Serie A players in the Saudi Arabia squad.
